Asomex 2.5 Tablet contains S-Amlodipine 2.5 mg per tablet.

Dose

Adults: Initially, 2.5 mg once daily; adjust dose based on response and tolerability, maximum 10 mg daily. Pediatrics: Safety and efficacy not established. Special populations: No initial dose adjustment required for elderly or renal impairment; caution advised in hepatic impairment, consider lower doses.

Mechanism of action

S-Amlodipine selectively inhibits L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle, reducing calcium influx, which leads to vasodilation and decreased peripheral vascular resistance, thereby lowering blood pressure.
