Desvenlafaxine (100mg)
Desvenlafaxine (100mg)
Antidepressant; serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI).
Film-coated oral tablet containing 100 mg desvenlafaxine.
Desvenlafaxine is typically initiated at 50 mg once daily for adults; 100 mg daily is the maximum recommended dose. Not approved for pediatric use. In moderate to severe renal or hepatic impairment, dose adjustment or lower maximum doses are advised. Always individualize dosing and consult product information for specific recommendations.
Desvenlafaxine inhibits the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine by blocking the serotonin transporter (SERT) and norepinephrine transporter (NET) in the central nervous system, increasing synaptic concentrations of these neurotransmitters, which enhances mood and alleviates depressive symptoms.
