Clindamycin 10 mg per gram (1% w/w).

Dose

Apply a thin film of Acnesol Gel (clindamycin 1%) to the affected area twice daily for adults and children aged 12 years and older. Safety and efficacy in children under 12 years have not been established. Use with caution in patients with a history of colitis.

Mechanism of action

Binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit of *Cutibacterium acnes*, inhibiting peptidyl transferase activity, thereby blocking bacterial protein synthesis and suppressing bacterial growth, leading to reduced inflammation and lesion formation in acne vulgaris.
