Dose

Glycomet Trio 2 Tablet SR is typically taken once daily with meals. Dose adjustments may be needed based on glycemic response. Not recommended in severe renal or hepatic impairment. Mechanism of action

Glimepiride stimulates pancreatic β-cell insulin release (blocks ATP-sensitive K⁺ channels), metformin decreases hepatic gluconeogenesis and increases insulin sensitivity (activates AMP-activated protein kinase), and voglibose inhibits intestinal α-glucosidase, delaying carbohydrate absorption; together, they lower blood glucose by enhancing insulin action, reducing glucose production, and slowing glucose absorption.

Precautions

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to glimepiride, metformin, voglibose, or excipients, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe renal impairment, acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, severe hepatic dysfunction, gastrointestinal obstruction, inflammatory bowel disease, pregnancy, lactation.
