Drug classification

Film-coated tablet

API strength per dosage

Naproxen 500 mg, Domperidone 10 mg per tablet.

Dose

Adults: One tablet (Naproxen 500 mg + Domperidone 10 mg) twice daily, before meals. Not recommended for children under 12 years. Use with caution in elderly, renal, or hepatic impairment; dose adjustment may be necessary. Contraindicated in severe hepatic or renal dysfunction.

Mechanism of action

Naproxen inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 and -2 (COX-1, COX-2) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis and inflammation. Domperidone antagonizes dopamine D2 receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone and gastrointestinal tract, enhancing gastrointestinal motility and exerting antiemetic effects.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to naproxen or domperidone, active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe hepatic or renal impairment, heart failure, QT prolongation, concomitant use with CYP3A4 inhibitors, prolactin-releasing pituitary tumor.
