Dose

Novastat Gold 20 Capsule is typically taken once daily in adults, with or without food. It is not recommended for children. Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment; dose adjustments or alternative therapy may be required. Contraindicated in severe hepatic impairment. Mechanism of action

Aspirin irreversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), reducing thromboxane A2 and platelet aggregation. Clopidogrel irreversibly blocks the P2Y12 ADP receptor on platelets, inhibiting activation and aggregation. Rosuvastatin competitively inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, decreasing cholesterol synthesis and upregulating LDL receptors, lowering plasma LDL cholesterol. Together, they reduce atherothrombotic risk.

Precautions

Bleeding risk, liver function monitoring, renal function assessment, muscle symptoms, gastrointestinal ulceration, avoid in active bleeding or severe liver disease, monitor for hypersensitivity, drug interactions (anticoagulants, NSAIDs), assess for myopathy, monitor lipid levels, caution in elderly, monitor platelet function if indicated, avoid abrupt discontinuation.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to aspirin, rosuvastatin, clopidogrel, or excipients, active bleeding, peptic ulcer, severe liver impairment, pregnancy, lactation, history of hemorrhagic stroke, severe renal impairment, myopathy, coagulopathy, concurrent use of methotrexate (high dose).
