Sodium Hyaluronate (1mg/ml)
Sodium Hyaluronate (1mg/ml)
Ophthalmic lubricant; specific subclass: artificial tear (ocular surface lubricant).
Sterile ophthalmic solution for topical administration to the eye.
Sodium hyaluronate 1mg/ml eye drops are typically instilled 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) as needed. Dosing frequency may vary based on symptom severity. No specific adult, paediatric, renal, or hepatic dose adjustments are generally required. Use under medical supervision; avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination.
Sodium hyaluronate acts as a viscoelastic polymer, binding water molecules on the ocular surface. It stabilizes the tear film and prolongs tear retention by adhering to the corneal and conjunctival epithelium, reducing evaporation and friction, thereby relieving dryness and irritation without direct pharmacological receptor targets.
