Dose

Nebzmart FB 1mg Smartules (formoterol 20 mcg + budesonide 1 mg per 2 mL) are typically used via nebulization for asthma or COPD maintenance. Standard dosing varies by age and severity; always follow prescribing information. Dose adjustments may be needed in hepatic impairment. Safety and efficacy in children under 6 years are not established.

Mechanism of action

Formoterol, a long-acting β2-adrenergic receptor agonist, stimulates airway smooth muscle β2 receptors, causing bronchodilation. Budesonide, an inhaled corticosteroid, binds to intracellular glucocorticoid receptors, reducing airway inflammation by inhibiting inflammatory mediator release. Together, they improve airflow and reduce asthma or COPD symptoms.
