Dose

Okacet Cold Total Tablet is typically taken by adults and children over 12 years as directed by a physician, usually one tablet every 12 hours. Use in children under 12, or in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, requires caution and medical supervision. Dose adjustments may be necessary in renal or hepatic dysfunction. Always follow medical advice.

Mechanism of action

Levocetirizine selectively blocks peripheral H1 histamine receptors, reducing allergy symptoms. Phenylephrine is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist, causing vasoconstriction in nasal mucosa, relieving congestion. Paracetamol inhibits central prostaglandin synthesis via COX enzymes, providing analgesic and antipyretic effects. Together, they alleviate allergic rhinitis symptoms, nasal congestion, pain, and fever.
