Rabeprazole (40mg)
Rabeprazole (40mg)
Proton pump inhibitor (PPI); specifically, a substituted benzimidazole derivative.
Rabonik 40 Tablet is an oral, film-coated tablet containing rabeprazole 40 mg.
Rabonik 40 Tablet (rabeprazole 40 mg) is typically used once daily before meals for adults with acid-related disorders. Dose adjustments are generally not required in mild-to-moderate renal or hepatic impairment, but caution is advised in severe hepatic dysfunction. Safety and efficacy in children under 12 years are not established; consult product labeling for pediatric use.
Rabeprazole irreversibly inhibits the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme (proton pump) in gastric parietal cells, blocking the final step of gastric acid secretion. This suppression of acid production increases gastric pH, reducing acidity and promoting healing of acid-related gastrointestinal conditions.
Treatment of Gastroesophageal reflux disease (Acid reflux)Treatment of Peptic ulcer diseaseTreatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
Diarrhea Dizziness Flatulence Headache Nausea Sore throat Stomach pain Vomiting
Rabeprazole should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed; limited human data, animal studies show no clear risk but caution is advised.
Monitor for hypersensitivity reactions, risk of Clostridioides difficile infection, bone fracture in long-term use, hypomagnesemia, vitamin B12 deficiency, hepatic impairment, potential drug interactions, symptom masking of gastric malignancy, and rebound acid hypersecretion on discontinuation; use caution in pregnancy and lactation.
Hypersensitivity to rabeprazole, substituted benzimidazoles, or any tablet component; co-administration with rilpivirine-containing products.
