0.6MG & 1.2MG

Dose

Adults and children over 6 years: Dissolve one lozenge slowly in the mouth every 2 to 3 hours, maximum 12 lozenges per day. Not recommended for children under 6 years. No specific dosage adjustments are required for special populations.

Mechanism of action

Amylmetacresol and dichlorobenzyl alcohol in Strepsils Honey & Lemon exert antiseptic effects by disrupting microbial cell membranes, leading to cell lysis and death. They primarily target bacteria and viruses in the throat, reducing infection and associated symptoms.

Indications

Sore throat, throat irritation, mouth infections, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, oral hygiene maintenance.

Side effects

Allergic reactions, oral irritation, tongue swelling, difficulty breathing, skin rash, gastrointestinal disturbances.

Precautions

Allergic reactions to ingredients, pregnancy and breastfeeding caution, avoid excessive use, potential interaction with other throat medications, not recommended for children under 6 years, consult healthcare provider if symptoms persist beyond 7 days or are accompanied by fever, headache, nausea, or vomiting.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to amylmetacresol, dichlorobenzyl alcohol, or any other component, children under 6 years, hereditary fructose intolerance (due to sucrose content).
