Acetaminophen 500mg

Dose

Adults: 500–1000 mg rectally every 4–6 hours, maximum 4 g/day. Children: 15 mg/kg rectally every 4–6 hours, maximum 60 mg/kg/day (not exceeding 4 g/day). Adjust dose in severe hepatic impairment; avoid in severe liver disease. Not recommended for infants under 3 months without medical supervision.

Precautions

Hepatic impairment, severe renal impairment, chronic alcohol use, malnutrition, hypersensitivity to acetaminophen, use with other acetaminophen-containing products, risk of overdose, prolonged use without medical supervision, rectal irritation, pediatric dosing accuracy, monitor for allergic reactions.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to acetaminophen or excipients, severe hepatic impairment, acute liver failure.
