Mechanism of action

Carvedilol is a non-selective beta-adrenergic blocker with alpha-1 blocking activity. It inhibits beta-1 and beta-2 adrenergic receptors and alpha-1 adrenergic receptors, reducing heart rate, myocardial contractility, and peripheral vascular resistance, leading to decreased blood pressure.
