CLOTRIMAZOLE 1% AND BETAMETHASONE 0.025%

Dose

Apply Candid B Cream (Clotrimazole and Betamethasone) thinly and evenly to the affected area twice daily for 2 weeks in adults and children over 12 years. Not recommended for children under 12 years without medical advice. Use cautiously in pregnancy and avoid prolonged use on large areas of the body.

Mechanism of action

Clotrimazole inhibits ergosterol synthesis by blocking lanosterol 14α-demethylase, disrupting fungal cell membrane integrity. Betamethasone activates glucocorticoid receptors, reducing transcription of pro-inflammatory genes, thereby decreasing inflammation and immune response.

Indications

Tinea pedis (athlete's foot), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea corporis (ringworm), symptomatic inflammatory manifestations of these infections.
