Choose your starting point
Keep short calculation sessions throughout the week, even when your main focus is the general section. Follow a calculation session with a general-practice case so you practise changing between numerical and professional reasoning. Recheck errors without copying the original working.
Take free Test 1 and request your diagnostic from Results. Use it with the official blueprint to choose three topics to review. One test cannot assess the full syllabus.
SAPC describes the intern pre-registration examination as one paper with calculation and general sections. PharmaProLearn separates these into practice tracks for focused revision. The foreign-qualified professional examination is a different route; this intern-preparation page does not claim to cover that full pathway.
Your four-week revision cycle
Adapt this plan to your schedule. You may need more than four weeks. Repeat a week if you need more practice.
- WEEK 01
Separate numerical and general gaps
Start with the calculation and general-practice diagnostics. Make two error lists. In calculations, mark whether the problem was choosing a method, converting units or arithmetic; in general practice, identify the professional decision you misunderstood.
- WEEK 02
Make calculations a regular habit
Use a short calculation session on each study day, showing units throughout. Give longer sessions to the general-section topics flagged by your report. Link a concept to an example from supervised internship practice when possible.
- WEEK 03
Rehearse changing task type
Move between numerical questions and general-practice scenarios within the same revision session. Practise identifying the task before answering. Check your timing against the current official instructions rather than assuming PPL’s separate tracks mirror the whole exam.
- WEEK 04
Review reasoning, not only scores
Repeat missed methods without the original working. Explain why a general-practice answer is appropriate and why an alternative is less suitable. Revisit the SAPC examination notice and your internship requirements while planning your next revision cycle.
A useful 60-minute study session
| Time | Activity | What to produce |
|---|---|---|
| 10 minutes | Recall yesterday’s weak concept without notes | A short explanation or worked method |
| 25 minutes | Answer questions or rehearse a task | Your answer and reasoning |
| 20 minutes | Review mistakes and check the source | A correction and a reason it matters |
| 5 minutes | Plan the next session | One specific topic to revisit |
If you have only 30 minutes, shorten the practice block and keep the review. If you have longer, add a second focused block after a break rather than simply increasing question volume.
Adapt the plan to SAPC
Calculation technique
Practise concentrations, dilution and quantities with clear units. Separate an arithmetic slip from misunderstanding the method, then revise the cause.
General section reasoning
For each practice scenario, identify the patient-care or professional decision being tested before looking at the options.
Internship context
Use examples from supervised practice to connect knowledge to safe decisions. Keep current SAPC materials beside your revision plan for local requirements.
