Choose your starting point
Give each of the three PPL practice papers a recurring slot. After a diagnostic, shift more time to the weakest paper without dropping the other two. Use a separate checklist for current Council application instructions so administrative tasks do not consume revision time.
Take free Test 1 and request your diagnostic from Results. Use it with the official blueprint to choose three topics to review. One test cannot assess the full syllabus.
The Pharmacy Council publishes pre-registration and professional examination guidance and application instructions. PharmaProLearn organises its preparation into Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3 tracks. Check the official guidance for the qualification and examination you are applying for.
Your four-week revision cycle
Adapt this plan to your schedule. You may need more than four weeks. Repeat a week if you need more practice.
- WEEK 01
Build a three-paper baseline
Check the Council guidance for your qualification. Use the applicable PPL diagnostics to identify gaps across calculation/formulation, applied practice and law/ethics. Maintain separate notes for each practice paper.
- WEEK 02
Give each paper a recurring slot
Spend more time on the weakest paper while keeping short sessions for the others. Show working in formulation exercises, explain applied-practice decisions and use current Tanzanian sources for law and professional requirements.
- WEEK 03
Connect topics across papers
After a formulation or supply-chain question, consider which professional-practice principle is also relevant. Use mixed revision to practise recognising the type of problem. Keep official exam structure separate from the platform’s revision categories.
- WEEK 04
Check balance across the tracks
Compare recent errors in all three PPL papers. Retest difficult methods with changed values and revisit weak professional concepts. Confirm current Council instructions for your sitting and give remaining gaps priority in the next cycle.
A useful 60-minute study session
| Time | Activity | What to produce |
|---|---|---|
| 10 minutes | Recall yesterday’s weak concept without notes | A short explanation or worked method |
| 25 minutes | Answer questions or rehearse a task | Your answer and reasoning |
| 20 minutes | Review mistakes and check the source | A correction and a reason it matters |
| 5 minutes | Plan the next session | One specific topic to revisit |
If you have only 30 minutes, shorten the practice block and keep the review. If you have longer, add a second focused block after a break rather than simply increasing question volume.
Adapt the plan to Tanzania Pharmacy Council
Paper 1 practice
Use the formulation and calculation track to practise units, concentrations and compounding reasoning. Write the method before selecting an answer.
Paper 2 practice
Connect hospital, community, clinical and supply-chain examples to practical decisions. Review why a process or action is appropriate in the scenario.
Paper 3 practice
Separate law, ethics and professional-conduct revision from general science. Confirm legal points using current Tanzanian materials.
