A worked NAPLEX preparation exercise
Try this original PharmaProLearn calculation without signing in. It is a sample exercise, not an official exam question or a full diagnostic.
For an arithmetic exercise only, directions specify two tablets twice daily for 14 days. What quantity covers the stated duration?
Reveal answer and explanation
56 tabletsTwo tablets per dose × two doses per day × 14 days = 56 tablets. Distinguish tablets per dose from tablets per day. This is a quantity exercise, not a clinical dosing recommendation.
At the same stated rate, how many complete days would 40 tablets cover?
Check your working
10 days: 40 ÷ (2 × 2). This is arithmetic from the hypothetical directions, not a dosing recommendation.
Check your method
Try the same method with different numbers. Explain each step without looking at the answer.
- Write what the question asks you to calculate or decide.
- Identify the relevant information and its units.
- Show the method before calculating the final answer.
- Check the size and unit of your answer for plausibility.
- Record the reason for an error, then retry later without the solution.
What else should you practise for NAPLEX?
Practise other topics too. Check the official guidance for the full syllabus.
NAPLEX practice
Use the current NABP content outline to organise revision. For every missed scenario, write the clinical or medication-use principle that you need to revisit.
Calculations
Practise converting units, interpreting concentrations and checking whether an answer is plausible. Keep a separate list of formula-selection and arithmetic errors.
Jurisprudence separately
Confirm whether your board requires MPJE, UMPJE or another assessment. Study the current applicable law; a general question bank cannot substitute for jurisdiction-specific requirements.
Keep your NAPLEX and law revision logs separate. Use mixed NAPLEX practice to locate weak topics, then add short calculation drills. Allocate a distinct session to the official law materials for the jurisdiction where you are applying.
