The May 2026 PEBC pharmacist blueprint is competency-based. It does not ask candidates to study six unrelated subjects; it describes what an entry-level pharmacist must be able to do safely and independently in Canadian practice.
BLUEPRINT TO REVISION
What to study — and where the knowledge connects
These links open broad PharmaProLearn learning units. Use them to rebuild foundations, then return to the regulator's current blueprint or guidance for the exact scope expected in your examination.
Providing Care: Clinical Care — 45% overall
This is the largest blueprint area. It covers obtaining relevant patient information, assessing needs, developing and implementing care plans, and monitoring/revising care. The current blueprint weights it at about 50% of Part I and 40% of Part II.
This area covers prescription processing, preparation/dispensing, verification, release of products and inventory responsibilities. Part I carries more of this content than the OSCE.
Communication, professionalism and professional judgement
The blueprint also tests communication/collaboration, knowledge and expertise, leadership/stewardship and professionalism. Communication has a particularly strong OSCE weighting, while professionalism includes legislation, ethics, equity, patient safety and quality improvement.
Use the official blueprint percentages to decide how much revision time a competency deserves, then adjust using your own diagnostic gaps.
02
For Part I, practise selecting and defending the best decision from case information; for Part II, practise saying and doing the steps aloud.
03
Keep Canadian law, scope and professional standards tied to current Canadian sources rather than importing rules from another jurisdiction.
Current official guidance wins
PEBC's blueprint is the primary map. The PharmaProLearn units below support underlying science and clinical knowledge; they are not a replacement for Canadian entry-to-practice standards or official sample materials.
