Choose your starting point
If you are revising two PPB papers, alternate them across the week. Reserve one session for calculation mistakes and one for explaining a professional-practice decision aloud. Use the diagnostic from each paper to decide which topics deserve your longer sessions.
Take free Test 1 and request your diagnostic from Results. Use it with the official blueprint to choose three topics to review. One test cannot assess the full syllabus.
PPB distinguishes pre-registration examinations for pharmacists (Stage I and II) from enrolment examinations for pharmaceutical technologists (Level I and II). Use your own PPB registration details to choose the correct route; these tracks are not interchangeable.
Your four-week revision cycle
Adapt this plan to your schedule. You may need more than four weeks. Repeat a week if you need more practice.
- WEEK 01
Map your stage or level
Confirm Stage I/II or Level I/II, then take the diagnostic for the paper you are revising. Keep separate Paper I and Paper II error lists. Identify whether your main difficulty is knowledge recall, calculations or applying a concept to a scenario.
- WEEK 02
Repair one weakness in each paper
Choose a weak topic from each paper’s report. Review the relevant concept, complete focused practice and explain one corrected answer without notes. Alternate papers across sessions so your stronger paper does not consume all your study time.
- WEEK 03
Practise switching between topics
Mix calculation exercises with professional-practice questions from your route. Work through a timed block when the concepts are clearer, then review where you spent too long. Use current Kenyan sources to check any local-law point that caused confusion.
- WEEK 04
Recheck both papers
Retry the topics you missed, then use fresh practice where available. Compare the kind of mistakes you are making across the two papers. Keep revising weak areas rather than treating a familiar Test 1 score as proof of readiness.
A useful 60-minute study session
| Time | Activity | What to produce |
|---|---|---|
| 10 minutes | Recall yesterday’s weak concept without notes | A short explanation or worked method |
| 25 minutes | Answer questions or rehearse a task | Your answer and reasoning |
| 20 minutes | Review mistakes and check the source | A correction and a reason it matters |
| 5 minutes | Plan the next session | One specific topic to revisit |
If you have only 30 minutes, shorten the practice block and keep the review. If you have longer, add a second focused block after a break rather than simply increasing question volume.
Adapt the plan to Kenya PPB
Stage or level first
Start in the track that matches your qualification and current stage. Keep Paper I and Paper II errors in separate lists so one strong paper does not hide a weaker one.
Calculations with working
Write units at every step in dilution, concentration and quantity calculations. Review your method as well as the final number.
Applied pharmacy practice
Connect scientific knowledge to dispensing, therapeutics, professional judgement and Kenyan pharmacy practice. Check local law against current official materials.
