Choose your starting point
Use frequent short calculations sessions alongside longer written-question blocks. In your error log, separate failure to recall a fact from misreading the question or failing to apply it. Rehearse the official question styles using the regulator’s sample material too.
Take free Test 1 and request your diagnostic from Results. Use it with the official blueprint to choose three topics to review. One test cannot assess the full syllabus.
The GPhC publishes a Common Registration Assessment framework for 2026 sittings. Use the framework and current candidate guidance for your sitting. PharmaProLearn’s calculations and SBA/matching tracks support revision; they do not replace the official assessment specification.
Your four-week revision cycle
Adapt this plan to your schedule. You may need more than four weeks. Repeat a week if you need more practice.
- WEEK 01
Read the framework for your sitting
Use the current Common Registration Assessment framework and candidate guidance to organise revision. Take a calculation and a written-practice diagnostic. Keep separate notes on numerical technique, knowledge gaps and interpretation errors.
- WEEK 02
Protect calculation practice time
Include a short numerical block on study days, checking units and requested precision. Use longer sessions for weak written-question topics. For each SBA, explain what makes the answer the best response to the specific question.
- WEEK 03
Switch between written formats
Work with both SBA and matching practice. Assess each matching stem independently rather than assuming a pattern in the option choices. Rehearse timing using the applicable official specification and review the questions where time pressure affected your judgement.
- WEEK 04
Make accuracy repeatable
Retry methods you previously got wrong without copying the working. Check performance on unfamiliar questions where available. Review official exam-day guidance and build the next week around errors that persist, especially units, rounding and misreading the task.
A useful 60-minute study session
| Time | Activity | What to produce |
|---|---|---|
| 10 minutes | Recall yesterday’s weak concept without notes | A short explanation or worked method |
| 25 minutes | Answer questions or rehearse a task | Your answer and reasoning |
| 20 minutes | Review mistakes and check the source | A correction and a reason it matters |
| 5 minutes | Plan the next session | One specific topic to revisit |
If you have only 30 minutes, shorten the practice block and keep the review. If you have longer, add a second focused block after a break rather than simply increasing question volume.
Adapt the plan to GPhC / CRA
Calculation accuracy
Work methodically with units and retain your unrounded values until the final step. Read the requested unit and precision before submitting an answer.
SBA and matching
Practise distinguishing an acceptable action from the single best answer to the stated task. For matching exercises, assess each stem independently.
Professional practice
Connect practice scenarios to the current framework and UK guidance. Explain the reasoning behind an answer rather than memorising its position in a list.
