Tanzania's Pharmacy Council publishes pre-registration/professional examination content and states that each examination has at least four assessment sections, including MCQ and other selected/constructed-response formats. PharmaProLearn separates pharmacist preparation into three paper tracks to mirror the Council's content areas.
AT A GLANCE
What matters first
Paper ICompounding, calculations & formulations
Includes dosage forms, pharmaceutical calculations and quality/production-related concepts in the Council's published content.
Paper IIHospital & community pharmacy practice
Covers medicine use, dispensing, patient care, supply chain and related applied pharmacy-practice areas.
Paper IIILaw, regulation & professional ethics
Uses Tanzanian pharmacy law, regulations, ethics and professional-conduct sources.
HOW TO READ THE EXAM
Understand the assessment before you optimise your revision
Expect mixed response formats
The Council's FAQ says each examination has at least four sections that can include multiple-choice questions, true/false or matching items, and short and long essays. Revision therefore needs both recognition and the ability to explain a decision clearly.
The three papers test different kinds of thinking
Paper I is technical and calculation/formulation heavy; Paper II applies clinical, dispensing, communication and supply-chain reasoning; Paper III depends on accurate Tanzanian legal and ethical knowledge. Keep separate error logs for the three.
Current Council notices govern the sitting
Exam calendars and operational arrangements are announced by the Council. Use the current PCMIS/application notice for timing, venue and any changes to how the papers are administered.
Current official guidance wins
The Council periodically updates examination content documents and professional rules. Use the latest regulation/guideline page for Paper III rather than memorising an outdated law list.
